Hillary Takes the High Road
Isn’t this wonderful? We finally have a political contest where one of the candidates has finally decided to take the high road and avoid mudslinging even if it would serve their political ambitions. Wouldn’t you know it would take a woman to finally lift the bar. Here, according to Robert Novak [the journalist that first wrote of the Valarie Plame affair that the media tried to cause you to believe (and probably successfully) that Cheney had leaked when it was actually Richard Armitage], you have Clinton operatives conveniently letting it be know that they had uncovered a scandal involving Barak Obama but have decided to not release the information nor even release the nature of the alleged scandal.
Phewwww……….Just to think that this woman has uncovered some secret information about her opponent and voluntarily decided not to release this information publicly. I can only say that maybe she should release this information even if not to enhance her candidacy but because the electorate might have the right to know the “truth” about potential Presidential candidates before the election. I don’t think HRc should set herself up as the gatekeeper of essential electoral information, do you? Note the full article by Novak below.
The only thing that bothers me about this report is that if it were anyone but HRc I would wonder about the possibility of a campaign making up such a report out of thin air about anyone and then take the credit for taking the high road without ever having to prove or even assert the underlying facts while still causing the electorate to question the veracity of the candidate in question (in this case Barak). In almost any other circumstance it would be very easy to make this up and slander someone by innuendo and look good for not spelling out the details. But thankfully we know that this type of conduct is not something that anyone in the Clinton camp over the past 15 – 20 years would ever try to do.
Agents of Sen. Hillary Clinton are spreading the word in Democratic circles that she has scandalous information about her principal opponent for the party’s presidential nomination, Sen. Barack Obama, but has decided not to use it. The nature of the alleged scandal was not disclosed. This word-of-mouth among Democrats makes Obama look vulnerable and Clinton look prudent. It comes during a dip for the front-running Clinton after she refused to take a stand on New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer’s now discarded plan to give driver’s licenses to illegal aliens. Hillary’s $100 Generosity (in theory)
Subtitle: “Let them eat cake.” Hillary and her entourage visited the Maid Rite Restaurant in Toledo, Iowa this past Thursday and ran up a $157 tab. This tab was settled by a credit card of the campaign and the campaign has provided a receipt of the card charge to prove it. What it doesn’t prove is that the $100 tip claimed by Clinton was ever made.
Anita Esterday a waitress at the restaurant that served Mrs. Clinton and her guest said she chatted and exchanged pleasantries with Mrs. Clinton and might even vote for her but that Mrs. Clinton failed to leave a tip. Hillary even used the encounter in a campaign speech. I suppose it was about the raw deal the working people are getting in this country with minimum wage or health care or something like that. The campaign went in defense mode and insisted that a tip was left on the table for $100. When Ms. Esterday said “why would I lie about not receiving a tip,” the campaign repeatedly said that “well we left the cash.”
This was somewhat of a change from their perspective that they understood the tip to have been added to the credit card. The manager says that their card processor doesn’t automatically add a tip to any charge. He also says that there was no cash tip left at the table at which Hillary was seated. The manager stated that all of their waitresses are long term waitresses (25-30 years) and that there isn’t one that would pocket someone else’s tip.
Later a campaign staffer apologized to Esterday and gave her a $20.00 bill and my question is where is that $100 that was avowed? So their tip generosity was $100 (64%) when they could simply assert it, but when it came to actually taking their own money and paying it, it is only $20.00 (12.7%) which is substandard. So this illustrates how HRc claims to be the champion of the “little people” but as it turns out she is the oppressor (I guess we can’t say she is the “man”).
Of course none of my conjecture is accurate, because what actually happened is Clinton stiffed the waitress and the rest is spin control amplified by increasing intensity of their lies which I believe is clear. MORE
Obama and the Flag and Now the National Anthem
A PICTURE IS WORTH 1,000 WORDS: I know it’s an old story that Obama has removed the US flag pin from his lapel after wearing it following 911 and he justified this by stating: “I am less concerned that what your are wearing on your lapel than what is in your heart.” He also stated that he has abandoned the pin in favor of actions that would be more meaningful in demonstrating his patriotism. Snopes confirms HERE that this picture is an authentic picture from Time magazine of the candidates (note Richardson & Hillary) at an Iowa steak fry.
Now I am not critical of Obama not wearing the lapel pin, I don’t wear one myself, but his overt decision to take it off and make a statement gives pause, but not a terrible lot of pause until you add this to the question: what is the statement that this action in the picture above demonstrates where he sort of stoically flaunts protocol designed around national respect (hand over heart) in context of his own standard that he would take actions that would more meaningfully demonstrate the authenticity of his patriotism. I’m not ready to conclude the Manchurian Candidate thing, but I am not sure he is rising to a reasonable credibility level about his true viewpoints with these actions. He raised this issue himself and we can only measure him by his own statements, standards and actions.

John Edwards Takes on America’s SUV’s
Well here is another “Do as I say” from the cadre of Democratic Presidential contenders. I haven’t had much time to be active on NSL with the handling of my brother-in-laws estate and business affairs, but I just had to jump in on this one.
While speaking to a machinists labor group in Florida yesterday Edwards said that he would ask Americans to make a big sacrifice, their Sports Utility vehicles. Isn’t this perfect? He also said: “I think Americans are actually willing to sacrifice,” and “one of the things they should be asked to do is drive more fuel efficient vehicles.”
You will notice the picture above where Edwards is just about to enter his own Ford Escape SUV. But don’t be alarmed, this is one of those hybrids, though not as environmentally friendly as the Prius. But those of you that have read NSL for a few months know that it has now been established that the Hybrids do more environmental damage than a Hummer. For those of you that missed it, check HERE. But we should give some grace to John since most all of the Democratic contenders seem to love the big rigs. Maybe al Gore can interest them in purchasing Carbon Offset Credits so they can accuse Americans of over indulging with impunity. For more on this story from the AP read this article from MSNBC HERE.
Hillary Playing Hide N’ Seek Again
What ever happens in the election in 2008, lets just be sure that the voters make their decision based on a “lock up” of the record of Hillary Clinton. Sort of a “don’t ask don’t tell” program to mislead the voters. Probably the left would see the public dissemination of her record to be an invasion of her privacy anyway. The Clinton library has declared according to an LA Times article by Peter Nicholas HERE that the records won’t be available to the public until after the 2008 election (isn’t that special). For goodness sake we (the Clintons) certainly don’t want what we have done with the power of the Presidency to figure in to the evaluation of her suitability. I can’t believe what a sucker the left hand side of the voting public is for Hillary’s constant re-shaping of the facts.
I’ll just bet that this decision is based on the fact that she called out Obama on his statement to not use Nukes as being too unsophisticated and knowledgeable for the job (Presidency) all while it was later revealed that she had said essentially the same thing. I’m betting that a calculation has been made that she wants a free fire zone during the campaign without the possibility that she can be caught in her lies and duplicity at least as it pertains to official presidential records. Every time she gets political pressure she shifts her views without blinking to accommodate as many voters as possible, predominately on the left. Who in the adult community sees this as a credible candidate to any degree?
A Little Insight to Character Here….
This is not an endorsement for or against the candidacy of Republican Mitt Romney. However, this Iowa frontrunner, (seems like the 2nd tier candidates are dominating there), demonstrated some interesting leadership in this 1996 incident. I think it might be “good reading” if you want to take the time. Little insight to character here……….. I guess he has at least one mans vote.

DICK SAYS: Go HERE and check out Bill Clinton’s syrupy five minute ad for Hillary. He introduces the commercial by saying that he wants to share some things we may not know about Hillary’s background. His version of her biography is about as reliable as if it appeared in Pravda! So, I wanted to make a few corrections, AS FOLLOWS:
Bill says: Hillary never wanted to run for public office, but she did want to work at public service.
The facts are: When Clinton was considering not running for another term as Governor of Arkansas in 1990, Hillary said she would run if he didn’t. She and Bill even had me take two surveys to assess her chances of winning. The conclusion was that she couldn’t win because people would just see her as a seat warmer for when Bill came back licking his wounds after losing for president. So she didn’t run. Bill did and won. But there is no question she had her eye on public office, as opposed to service, long ago.

Obama Draws a Bright Line for our Enemies to See.
PR Inside dot com is reporting HERE that Senator Barack Obama elicits the wrath of other Democratic candidates by stating flat out that he would not use Nuclear Weapons to fight terrorism in Pakistan and Afghanistan under any circumstances including tactical theater defensive weaponry. Democratic Senators Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden and Chris Dodd were correct to criticize such careless references to the potential U.S. posture on these issues. So what does this mean? Well lets examine it here. I am sure our enemies are examining it.
If al Qaeda managed to get a suitcase nuke into New York City and detonate it and it killed lets say 500,000 to 1,000,000 American civilians Barack wouldn’t even consider retaliation on the Taliban and al Qaeda to try and root out their leadership. As a consequence of this telegraphed posture any country such as N. Korea or Iran (when they have the bomb that Barack Obama would tolerate) could funnel a nuclear bomb to terrorists to use on U.S. soil and they could do so with no fear of reprisal (at least nuclear) from Obama. I don’t think this guy is ready for prime time……..
Giuliani on Taxes
I am more interested in a recent report that says Giuliani expects the Democrats to raise taxes by 20-30 percent from the perspective that it reveals more about Giuliani than the Democrats. We all know that the Democrats plan to raise taxes if they take control of the White House as well as Congress, but it is comforting to know that even though Giuliani has some moderate to liberal leanings on some matters, tax policy isn’t one of them. He further stated that John Edwards had promised to double the current Long-Term Capital Gains tax [talk about a bright move that is directed at populist appeal notwithstanding the damage to the economy]. Rudy correctly noted that the last time Capital Gains was raised by the Democrats that revenue from this source fell by 40%.
I am really frustrated here, I don’t know why it is so hard for these lame Democratic politicians to get it through their thick skulls that their tax policy is counter productive and reduces federal revenues (and economic growth) while tax cuts (as in the most recent example by Bush) have always increased federal revenues.
You must be smoking something if you are reading this and don’t conclude that the only conceivable explanation for this is the desire for the Democrats to maintain a perpetual campaign strategy which is a politics of envy. It seems that they would rather keep a club in their bag to beat the Republicans over the head with than actually do something for the economy. I realize they have much invested in this line of argument and its continued success depends on their ability to repeatedly lie about it and have that lie believed by the masses.
ChickenHawk Fervor
With much amusement I have been reading some blogs and articles about the ChickenHawks in the Bush administration, Bush Supporters or Neocons in general. Here they mean Bush, Crystal, Wolfowitz, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Perle, etc. This general slur refers to leaders that are in favor of deploying the military in war but never served themselves. They never reference the unending list of Democrats (including most of the current Presidential Candidates) that are ChickenHawks.
