HRc Slips in the Polls Versus Republicans
I’m sorry, but I might have to change the blog title to “The Escapades of HRc.” Now the inevitable is starting to take shape. It has been discussed here at NSL before that HRc might be the preferred Democratic candidate if you are discussing Republican winning strategy. Now the latest Zogby poll shows just that. As a matter of fact that poll shows that she is 3 to 5 percentage points behind all the following candidates: Rudy Giuliani, Mitt Romney, Fred Thompson, John McCain and Mike Huckabee in head to head match ups. Ouch, that must sting a bit. The same poll has either Edwards or Obama with slight leads over this field.
I think Obama has caused a lot of damage in the Clinton camp of late. I think he is on to a pretty good thing with his latest quip that talking to your husband doesn’t qualify you for Presidency. I think that makes a pretty good point. This is about as worthless of a candidacy as Bob Dole’s was in 1996. But HRc like Bobdole before her thinks it is her turn. When you give someone the nomination based on their “turn” they’ll surely lose.
The Hill seems to be trying to rehabilitate her candidacy of late with today’s effort surrounding an interview by Katie Couric. The most interesting comment (to me) from that interview was Hillaries response to Katies question “It was announced Monday that Oprah Winfrey would be campaigning with Obama in three key states. How do you feel about that?” Get this answer: “I think it’s great … I’m proud to have a lot of very distinguished Americans [supporting me],” Clinton said. Woah……….what is she smoking? MORE

The context being, she thinks it’s great for Obama but she ALSO has a number of distinguished Americans supporting her as well… Duh
C’mon
You’re doing your job well though Steve, keep bashing her while gearing up for the general in hopes that she gets the dem ticket… Then you guys on the right can put another clown in office.
M2……….I agree that is what she’s talking about, but talk about missing the point of the question and flying off into never never land. And yes, she is my preferred opponent, and I’m not voting for any clowns unless McCain get the nomination………..steve
*Eh*… A Zogby poll… How reliable are they, really? I’ve even heard them refered to as “Al-Zogby” polls. Not particularly enthusiastic about polls, anyhow. Seems like most are skewed, however subtly, towards supporting the views of the - surprise! - pollsters. Or am I maybe being a bit cynical?
plodon, maybe not………polls are like broken watches, they are all right sometimes and they use that coincidence to advocate their competence………steve
Steve, after 7 years of our current administrations code language you’re actually challenging the way HRC answered this stupid question?
Anyone of nominal intelligence would answer the same way… Especially a politician.
I’d say she completely got the point of the question…
M2…………Then she was too embarrased to address the question asked, anyway it has been 15 years of code language…….steve
Make that 231 years but you get the point… Or maybe you don’t?
There is that generational disconnect
I’ll just go with the 231 (with appropriate adjustments for Honest Abe)……….steve
Hi steve
I think she was referencing Barbra Streisand as the distinguished American supporting her. You remember Barbra… the lady Hillary had tossed out of the White House while she was touring the world on taxpayer expense.
It seems Hillary didn’t want Bill and Barbra in the same house while she was away. I bet we can all guess the reason.

LC………….you know….Bubba will be Bubba………..steve
great job Steve!..but heck who wants Obama!…eeek!..lol..
Angel………good point, but they got to run somebody and I don’t like any of them……..steve
” I think he is on to a pretty good thing with his latest quip that talking to your husband doesn’t qualify you for Presidency. ”
Too bad for Obama visiting lots of countries doesn’t count either. HA!
John……….He can’t point to much (anything) that indicates his qualifications………steve
Barbra Who? (yawn) Celebrity endorsements are so worthless, and Babs is so yesterday.
I’d say Obama and Clinton are just about equally (un)qualified. The most noteworthy difference is that his last name isn’t Clinton.
Hi 30, …….equally unqualified……..you sure have that right…………steve
