John Edwards Takes on America’s SUV’s
Well here is another “Do as I say” from the cadre of Democratic Presidential contenders. I haven’t had much time to be active on NSL with the handling of my brother-in-laws estate and business affairs, but I just had to jump in on this one.
While speaking to a machinists labor group in Florida yesterday Edwards said that he would ask Americans to make a big sacrifice, their Sports Utility vehicles. Isn’t this perfect? He also said: “I think Americans are actually willing to sacrifice,” and “one of the things they should be asked to do is drive more fuel efficient vehicles.”
You will notice the picture above where Edwards is just about to enter his own Ford Escape SUV. But don’t be alarmed, this is one of those hybrids, though not as environmentally friendly as the Prius. But those of you that have read NSL for a few months know that it has now been established that the Hybrids do more environmental damage than a Hummer. For those of you that missed it, check HERE. But we should give some grace to John since most all of the Democratic contenders seem to love the big rigs. Maybe al Gore can interest them in purchasing Carbon Offset Credits so they can accuse Americans of over indulging with impunity. For more on this story from the AP read this article from MSNBC HERE.

What a bum. Doing what he thinks is right… Idiot must not have read your amazing, I can make numbers say anything I want them to, expose on hybrids?
I know I know, Gonzos departure, 50 billion more for Iraq & Senator Familyvalues’ behavior aren’t worthy of a post… Lets talk about Clinton praising Bush & Edwards riding in hybrids.

MDBL……… Hi, if Senator Family Values was running for President, I suppose I would make the point, just like the Democrats and their compliant media and Talking Heads do when they justify attacking Craig and say the big point is not that he is GAY (Not that there is anything wrong with that…….larry seinfeld) but that he wears the family values on his shirt sleeve. Much like the Democratic Presidential crop does with Global Warming and the environment. If you want to see a true expose on the Hybrids, just go overseas (Switzerland I believe) and see the moonscape terrain around the nickel factories. I am sure the numbers will not deceive. Also, could care less about Gonzo and didn’t think too much of him to begin with. If I were him though, I’d have dumped those Clinton holdovers long before.
BTW……..looks like they found Iraqi Chemical Weapons (phosgene) in a UN Building in NY utilized by Iraq HERE. So maybe Bush didn’t lie

& for the record, I think the Sen Craig thing is ridiculous. I mean if gay men have code languages in bathrooms that I’m oblivious to, what do I care… & I hate entrapment anyway.
It is a bit ironic that a lot of these clowns getting busted the last few years are so pro family values & anti-gay.

Yeah the Swiss have some nickel problems… probably manufacturing too many watches?
But seriously, I did read a book called - Design and Environment: A Global Guide to Designing Greener Goods & the author (Helen Lewis? I think) cited that problem in Switzerland & a number of other places (Norway) on more than a few occasions.
M2………..Edwards stated this weekend that he wouldn’t buy another SUV when questioned about his 4X4. So let me pledge right here, that since we own 2 4×4’s, I pledge right here and right now that if I should ever in the future declare my candidacy for the office of President of the United States that from that point forward I will not buy any more SUV’s.

Thanks for the link comparing the Prius and the Hummer. I had not seen or heard that. I can’t believe people are still driving around with Gore/Edwards bumper stickers.
